Basic Income takes economic pressure off all individuals, households and communities, no matter what their current level of readiness for transition; it can give a feeling of safety during the transition, especially if paired with other basic services. Basic income supports and opens up spaces for new ways of thinking and new demands. It enables everyone to leave behind aspects of the present system and the mental habits that accompany them.
